DESCRIPTION:Join Moffitt Cancer Center and TeamTony Cancer Foundation for a special Lifestyle Wellness Session: Ovarian Cancer and Genetic Risk Workshop – Project COURAGE. \nIf you’ve faced breast or gynecological cancer\, you know that questions don’t always end when treatment does. \nYou may wonder what your diagnosis could mean for your future health—or for your children\, siblings and other family members. And when it comes to genetic risk\, it can be hard to know what information matters or where to begin. \nGenetics can offer crucial information for the prevention and detection of cancer; especially breast and ovarian cancer. \nMost people\, even those with personal or family history\, are unsure of their hereditary risk status. This knowledge can help us TAKE ACTION to protect our health and that of our family members. \nYou’re invited to a unique\, interactive session dedicated to understanding the options available for screening and prevention. \nIf you or a family member have had cancer\, genetic counseling may be recommended for you. Learn about no-cost services\, including genetic counseling – and eligibility for free genetic screening through the Project COURAGE initiative. \nThis session is hosted by Tina Inman\, MS\, CGC\, a genetic counselor at Moffitt Cancer Center leading Project COURAGE\, a community initiative focused on awareness of ovarian cancer and access to hereditary cancer screening.
