DESCRIPTION:TeamTony Cancer Foundation recognizes the impact a cancer diagnosis has on everyone – the patient\, their family and their friends. Caring for someone with cancer comes with various emotional\, physical and logistical challenges. While the caregiver is grateful to help and support the individual facing cancer\, he or she may experience emotional strain\, physical exhaustion\, financial stress\, isolation\, and impacts on mental health. \nEnsuring the caregiver gets the support they need is a focus of TeamTony Cancer Foundation. \nHeld on the 3rd Monday of each month\, our Caregiver Coffee Connection will be an opportunity for those caring for a cancer fighter to come together over a cup of coffee or tea and connect with others who understand the unique challenges of caregiving. \nRSVP kelly@teamtony.org or 941-227-4404.

DESCRIPTION:A special session for oral\, throat & laryngeal cancer fighters and survivors \nWhen you’re facing oral\, throat or laryngeal cancer\, caring for your dental and oral health can bring questions you may never have expected to ask. \nWhat should you know before treatment begins? How can you care for your mouth and teeth during treatment? And what can you do about the long-term effects that may follow? \nThis September\, we’re offering a special TeamTony Lifestyle Wellness Session specifically for people navigating these concerns—and you’ll hear from someone who understands them from both a professional and personal perspective. \nDental Care for the Oropharyngeal Cancer Patient\nPresented by Dr. Jeff Blackburn \nDr. Blackburn is an award-winning dentist\, researcher and expert in treating oral cancer patients. He is also a 19-year throat cancer survivor. \nDuring this special session\, Dr. Blackburn will share practical information and answer questions about pre-treatment preparation\, dental and oral health concerns during treatment\, and the long-term complications that can result from radiation and oropharyngeal cancer treatment. \nMost importantly\, the conversation will focus on prevention and ways to support a better quality of life before\, during and after treatment. \nIf you are currently facing—or have survived—oral\, throat or laryngeal cancer\, we hope you’ll join us.
