POSTPONED Jean Marcley has combined the physical benefits of Laughter Yoga with the emotional benefits of affirmations – thus, Laugh-firmation. Laughter Yoga is a unique concept where anyone can laugh for exercise or social connection, without the use of humor, jokes, or comedy. In Laughter Yoga we initiate laughter as exercise along with child-like playfulness. We call it Yoga because we combine it with Yogic breathing (Pranayama) which helps to oxygenate the blood. Affirmations are used to focus on positive thoughts and beliefs. Recent studies have confirmed that affirmations have improved the lives of people of all ages and backgrounds. The simple act of focusing on the sources of meaning and purpose in our lives is incredibly effective at lowering defenses and changing behavior. Join the Team Tony Book Club as we read Andy Andrews’ “The Traveler’s Gift”, the story of David Ponder, whose woes begin when he loses his job, his confidence and essentially his drive for living. After a succession of losses, including a car accident, David Ponder is magically transported into seven key points in history. At each stopping point, he is met by historical figures such as Abraham Lincoln, Anne Frank, King Solomon, Harry Truman and Christopher Columbus, each of whom imparts one of the seven key decisions that are essential for personal success. Join Team Tony for our "Stronger Together" Cyber Auction! A week long event filled with fun and exciting auction items! All proceeds from this event will benefit Team Tony's Medical Assistance Program. MAP provides financial assistance for those who participate in our free peer-to-peer support program. The funds are allocated to help with the financial burdens one may have with a cancer diagnosis. Over the last 5 years, we have provided $118,832 in financial assistance to 114 cancer fighters. This has included assistance for medical copays, transportation and hotel stays for doctor appointments, prescription assistance, nutrition supplements and more.
