A special session for oral, throat & laryngeal cancer fighters and survivors

When you’re facing oral, throat or laryngeal cancer, caring for your dental and oral health can bring questions you may never have expected to ask.

What should you know before treatment begins? How can you care for your mouth and teeth during treatment? And what can you do about the long-term effects that may follow?

This September, we’re offering a special TeamTony Lifestyle Wellness Session specifically for people navigating these concerns—and you’ll hear from someone who understands them from both a professional and personal perspective.

Dental Care for the Oropharyngeal Cancer Patient
Presented by Dr. Jeff Blackburn

Dr. Blackburn is an award-winning dentist, researcher and expert in treating oral cancer patients. He is also a 19-year throat cancer survivor.

During this special session, Dr. Blackburn will share practical information and answer questions about pre-treatment preparation, dental and oral health concerns during treatment, and the long-term complications that can result from radiation and oropharyngeal cancer treatment.

Most importantly, the conversation will focus on prevention and ways to support a better quality of life before, during and after treatment.

If you are currently facing—or have survived—oral, throat or laryngeal cancer, we hope you’ll join us. Come with your questions. Come to learn. And come knowing you’ll be in a room with people who understand that the effects of cancer don’t necessarily end when treatment does.

Please RSVP to Kelly at kelly@teamtony.org or 941.227.4404.
