The 2022 Team Tony “Shared Steps” 5K Fun Run/Walk honoring Ernest "Doc" Werlin and Peter and Judi Wasserman and benefitting the Team Tony Cancer Foundation is scheduled to be held on April 30, 2022, at the Ernest "Doc" and Eloise Werlin Park. Proceeds benefit the Team Tony Cancer Foundation and our mission to provide free peer to peer support and resources to cancer fighters, caregivers and survivors so no one on the Florida’s Suncoast has to face cancer alone. Event day registration will begin at 7:00 am and the walk will begin at 8:00 am. Parking will be available at the Island Park Dr Parking area by Marina Jacks with trolley service to and from the park. Registration will be available soon on our website. Local, award-winning gospel band, Truality, is partnering with Trinity Youth and Families, Inc. and Exodus Community Resources, Inc. to present their 1st Annual “Shout It Out – Cancer Free!” benefit concert on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at SCF Neel Performing Arts Center.  A portion of the proceeds from the concert will benefit Team Tony Cancer Foundation, a Sarasota-based nonprofit organization that provides free peer-to-peer cancer support and resources to cancer fighters, survivors and caregivers in the local community, and Sarasota Prostate Initiative, a Sarasota-based nonprofit organization that increases awareness of diagnostic and treatment options available to men with prostate disease, and guides and supports them through their journey. Come celebrate the 6th annual Chocolate Fest sponsored by Advocate Radiation Oncology and The Port Charlotte Town Center Mall. 100% of proceeds from this event will benefit the Children's Cancer Center! At the Chocolate Fest, you can visit various participating local vendors and taste chocolate confections and speciality creations! Grab your to-go box upon entrance to fulfill those chocolate cravings. Some of this year's food vendors include tastings from local restaurants, country clubs, and bakeries in the Port Charlotte area. Last year, Chocolate Fest raised close to $5,000 for the immediate needs of local children and their families battling pediatric cancer.
