At Team Tony, our mission has always been clear: to ensure that no one on Florida’s Suncoast faces cancer alone. Cancer is a disease that impacts individuals, their families, caregivers, and friends. Team Tony Cancer Foundation was born from the profound understanding of the life-altering moment that accompanies a cancer diagnosis. Recognizing the impact of this pivotal moment, our co-founders, Tony McEachern and Lori Kayser, set out to offer insight and inspiration by connecting those newly diagnosed patients and caregivers with compassionate cancer survivors who have walked a similar path.

In Florida, over 100,000 people will be diagnosed with cancer this year. We offer members of the Suncoast community a lending hand and an open heart during a tremendously challenging and life-altering time. Team Tony Cancer Foundation’s mission is to provide free Peer-to-Peer cancer support and resources to
cancer fighters, survivors, and caregivers in our local community.

Over the last seven years, we have matched over 800 cancer fighters and caregivers in the Tri-County area with Team Tony teammates and provided over  350,000 in medical financial assistance grants to help alleviate the financial burden that comes with a cancer diagnosis.

As we celebrate our 15th Anniversary in 2025, we anticipate, with excitement, all that is to come this year and beyond, including the expansion of programs and services offered to our cancer Fighters and Caregivers, expanding our outreach efforts and continuing to make sure no one on Florida’s Suncoast faces cancer alone!

Everything we’ve accomplished has been made possible by the incredible generosity of our community. As we continue to walk alongside those impacted by cancer, we invite you to join us for this year’s 8th Annual Gran Fondo Sarasota!

Registration Information:

Registration fees are based on the number of miles chosen to ride – 33 miles, 62 miles or 100 miles. Not up for such a long distance? Choose our 5-mile Cruiser Ride for just $20!

What’s Included:

• Event shirts to the first 200 registered – we guarantee the size you order, if you register by 10/17/2025.
• Event limited to 350 riders.
• Continental breakfast
• Lunch provided by Sharky’s.
• Well-marked routes
• Safety escort and traffic signage for portion of Medio and Gran routes along Fruitville Road
• Online maps/cue sheets
• Full SAG support with friendly volunteers eager to make your ride more enjoyable.
• Fun, lively finish line party at Florida Farm Bureau featuring WC Sounds until our last cyclist rolls in

Fundraising Commitment:

Team Tony Cancer Foundation’s mission has never been more important. A cancer diagnosis is one of the most challenging, stressful, anxious experiences in life. Our Gran Fondo Sarasota event is a way for all of us to come together to raise funds and support fighters, caregivers and others facing cancer. Don’t let cancer gain ground. Cancer hasn’t stopped. Neither can we!

There is no fundraising minimum, however we are encouraging each participant to set a personal goal of $100 or more to fight cancer.

Fundraising Deadline:

All fundraising money, including matching gifts, must be postmarked on or before November 24, 2024. Cash and check donations can be mailed to our office at the address below:

Please note: the portion of the Gran and Medio distances that requires riding on Fruitville will have a safety escort as well as a traffic sign warning drivers of cyclists on the road.

• November 18 – Team Tony Cancer Connection Center, 10am – 4pm
• November 19 – Bicycles International (Venice), 3:30-5:30pm
• November 20 – Team Tony Cancer Connection Center, 10am – 6pm

Event Day – Sunday November 23rd:

• 6:00 am Registration/Check in Begins, Breakfast Available
• 7:00 am 2025 Gran Fondo Sarasota 100-mile Gran cyclists begin.
• 7:45 am 2025 Gran Fondo Sarasota 62-mile Medio cyclists begin.
• 8:30 am 2025 Gran Fondo Sarasota 33-mile Piccolo cyclists begin.
• 9:30 am 2025 Gran Fondo Sarasota 5-mile Cruiser Ride Cyclists begin.
• 11:00 am Lunch provided by Sharky’s.
